i have been working through this all day, and here's what I've got...i am not sad that this baby is a boy. I am just sad that it isn't a girl. does that make sense? also I am very grateful for a healthy baby, so don't get me wrong.

You are absolutely entitled to be sad about *no girl*. I've done it twice, and the feelings were the same as yours: sad it's not a girl, but not sad it's a boy . . . It's nothing to feel guilty about. I promise. There's a lot of things we will never experience because our people have penises. And it's okay to be sad about that. Farting & burping doesn't quite hold up to cute little tights & shoes. However, we DO have the privilege to raise amazing husbands for some lucky girls. And you will do an amazing job. I just know it. Love you, friend; I'm here for you.
